History Of Roller Coasters

Roller coasters have a fascinating history with their first monumental ice slides which were of the height seventy feet. The icy seats in this coaster were sometimes covered with blankets to sit and slide down the mountains.Roller coasters appeared first in the seventeenth century in Russia.Railways contributed a lot for the introduction of modern day roller coaster. The slides which were introduced at that time slowly gained fame and some of them were beautifully decorated to entertain the people. At the time of festive season these slides were built at the height of eighty feet. The history of roller coaster is really amazing and dramatic with many dynamic characters involved in creating many machines. People who sit in a roller caoster forget their surroundings and everything in their life and just enjoy the ride for a couple of minutes. The ride in roller coaster affects huge number of people in different number of ways.

History Of Roller Coasters

World war II and the great depression were the major reasons for the decline in production of roller coaster but sooner in the year 1970s and 1980s people could see a great boom in the amusement industry and it never stopped again. People enjoyed the innovative tubular steel roller coasters. Roller coasters gained a new life as Disney land opened its doors in the mid fiftees. Matterhorn was the main attraction to the people with a number of elements related to the past.

Two coasters were built by 1817 in France named as Les Montagues and Promenades Aeriennes. These coasters were designed in such a way that the axle of each car fits in to an open area attatched to the side of the track. The riders could load in the same tower which had two tracks running next to each other. The first looping coaster with simple layout was located in Frascati gardens in Paris. These coasters were reinforced by wooden supports. In the year 1912, John Miller has developed the first underfriction roller coaster (made of wood)  which slowly spread to other amusement parks.The wooden roller coaster which was opened in the year 1921 at Lagoon in Utah is the sixth oldest roller coaster in the world.

History Of Roller Coasters

The first and foremost roller coaster was designed and created by La Marcus Adna Thompson (The Father Of Gravity)who changed the history of amusement world forever and at the same time he entertained the youth of New York city. People through out world today enjoy these rides in roller coaster which is a star attraction at any amusement park. People who enjoy this ride are thrilled for few minutes till they are in this roller coaster. Roller coasters are the safest rides in any amusement parks which can be enjoyed by young or old.
